Meet the experts

Christian Fletcher B.Eng (Technical Director)

Christian has been involved with the design of the company’s depot protection and safety systems for over ten years. In co-operation with Loughborough University, he was responsible for the development of the original SMART system dedicated to the protection of personnel. His day-to-day activities involve supporting sales and technical staff and ensuring our products meet the standards required for safety and reliability.

Prior to joining Mechan Technology, Christian worked in the design of machine vision and automation systems within the high-speed press industry. Before that, he was involved with a small electronics prototyping and manufacturing company, designing testing of medical electronics equipment and tackling issues related to electro-magnetic compatibility (EMC).


Szer Ming Lee PhD (Research and Development Manager)

Szer Ming has primary responsibility for new application development, software design and project management. He has over 10 years’ experience in embedded and distributed control networks, in particular LonWorks, and has an active interest in utilising web-based technology for horizontal and vertical system integrations.

His considerable project management experience was demonstrated when he took responsibility for the development and installation of the SMART DPPS in the prestigious Eurostar Temple Mills Engineering Depot in east London. Szer Ming has a Technis Certificate in Reliability & Functional Safety.


Wilder Pong MSc, B.Eng (Control Systems Engineer)

Wilder joined the company in 2003 and has since been responsible for project managing many of our SMART DPPS installations. His background in electrical/electronic engineering encompasses design and implementation of control panel equipment. He is a 'hands on' engineer with considerable technical knowledge plus installation and commissioning experience, managing projects from inception to completion.

Like the rest of the zonegreen team, Wilder also provides his technical and practical support in the development of new products and refinement of existing designs. He is a Member of the Institution of Engineering and Technology and is pursuing a Technis Certificate in Reliability & Functional Safety.


Richard Eason BA (Control Systems Engineer)

Richard is an engineer experienced in project management, but he also has the benefit of a Higher National Diploma (HND) in mechanical engineering. He is an accomplished ‘hands on’ engineer with expert knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems.

Since joining the company, Richard has been responsible for a number of important rail projects, including First Capital Connect’s Bedford depot and the Dubai Driverless Metro. He also had some involvement in the Eurostar Temple Mills DPPS project.
