Depot Protection System - Overview

Zonegreen's Depot Personnel Protection System, commonly known as Depot Protection System, changes fundamentally the way in which the safety of rail depot personnel is achieved and demonstrated. Based on a novel distributed intelligence control architecture, it offers fundamental advantages to conventional/bespoke PLC (progrommable control logic)-based centralised control systems, in particular, reliability, flexibility, expandability and resilence to single point of failure.

As a safety-critical system that demands high system integrity, Zonegreen's Depot Protection System has demonstrated its reliability and capability from its numerous installations in UK traincare depots and, lately, in Ireland and Dubai.

The credibility of the Depot Protection System has been proven yet again when it attained a SIL 1 accreditation for the installation in the predigious Eurostar Temple Mills Engineering Depot in East London. This shows that the system is compliant with the Safety Integrity Levels (SIL) as defined IEC61508 and EN50128/50129

The video below shows Zonegreen's Depot Protection System recently installed in Eurostar Temple Mills Depot. It shows the various interface/interlocking with other equipment in the facility, for instance, signalling system, Overhead Live Equipment (OLE), overhead gantries and Bogie Drop System, to ensure staff working in the facilities are protected from unauthorised train movement.
